SELECT BOARD NOTICE
The Select Board voted to form a Committee on Education that will include Wentworth residents with its purpose to improve and stabilize education costs as well as alternatives to continued participation in the SAU #48. This has nothing to do with the School Board. It is a committee that seeks to educate the Select Board and townspeople about the continually rising costs of education and explore options.
The goals and tasks include:
1. Explore and understand the state educational legislation and law.
2. Explore the operations and procedures of the SAU #48.
3. Meet with the School District Governance Association of New Hampshire.
4. Seek opportunities for increased economic efficiency.
5. Research the ownership of the WES and land.
6. Explore alternatives to the present educational system.
Combine with other towns.
Charter option.
Change the SAU.
School Choice.
7. Committee to report its findings to both the School Board and the Select Board.
