Supervisors of the Checklist in Session January 16

Town of Wentworth Residents

The Supervisors of the Checklist for the Town of Wentworth will be in session, January 16, 2024 at 6pm at the Town Office. The purpose of the meeting is to update and make corrections to the checklist and to register new voters for the Presidential Primary Election held on January 23, 2024. We invite any new residents that wish to vote in elections to register or you may also register with the Town Clerk. Their hours are Tue 9am-7pm, Wed 9am-2pm and Thu 9am-2pm.

NO PARTY CHANGES ARE TO BE ACCEPTED AT THIS SESSION.

The wentworth-nh.org website has been updated visually for consistency and to better support mobile devices.  

Notes:

  • Some content is slightly different but is generally the same and in the same location as before.
  • Fire department, highway department, and library Facebook feeds might not be showing on all browsers.  This is being worked on.

Supervisors of the Checklist in Session October 6

The Supervisors of the Checklist for the Town of Wentworth will be in session October 6, 2023 at 7PM at the Wentworth Town Office. The purpose of the meeting is to update and make corrections to the checklist and to register new voters for the Presidential PrimaryOctober 6th is the last time registered voters may change their party affiliation prior to the Presidential Primary.  New voters may continue to register until election day at the Town Clerk’s Office during their business hours and on election day.

Special Hours for Town Clerk/Tax Collector's Office the week of September 18

The Town Clerk and Tax Collector's office will have special hours the week of September 18, 2023 so that they may attend their annual tax conference and training.

The hours are:

  • Monday, 9/18: 9 am - 2 pm
  • Tuesday, 9/19: 9 am - 7 pm
  • Friday, 9/20: 1 pm - 4 pm

Meeting time changes

Planning Board. Starting Monday, May 1, Planning Board meetings will start at 6:00 pm (instead of 6:30 pm) on the first Monday of the month.

Conservation Commission. Starting Wednesday, May 3, Conservation Commission meetings will start at 6:00 pm at the Wentworth Congregational Church on the first Wednesday of the month (new day, time, and location).

2023 NH Electric Co-op Herbicide Treatment Notice

April 1: New Hampshire Electric Co-op (NHE CO-OP) and its contractor consultant, Vegetation Control Service, Inc. (VCS) will apply herbicides to undesirable vegetation growing within power line rights of way corridors in Wentworth in 2023.

Residents who want personal notification or want to advise the NHE CO-OP or VCS of sensitive areas near the right of way are encouraged to send the attached returnable coupon to the NHE CO-OP.

Copies of the topological maps showing the location of the power lines and rights of way intended for treatment are also included in the attachment.

Employment Opportunity With Our Highway Department

 

Employment Opportunity 

Town of Wentworth Highway Department

The Town of Wentworth, NH is seeking candidates for a full-time, year-round position with mandatory hours being early mornings, nights and weekends in the winter as required by the Road Agent. The position will be a highway maintenance/construction worker. Preferred candidates will have a CDL B driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within 6 months. The candidate also must have experience operating equipment such as backhoe, road grader, plow truck, etc. Experience with equipment maintenance and repair is a plus. The position will also require manual labor and must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. All candidates must pass a criminal background check as well as a drug and alcohol screening prior to employment.
