Webster Memorial Library is looking for bids for sumac & brush removal and mulching on library property.
This work will be done in 2023 and is contingent upon the library budget being passed by vote at town meeting in March.
Specifics:
All bids must be received by November 30th. Must be fully insured and able to present certificate before work begins.

The Town of Wentworth, NH is seeking candidates for a full-time, year-round position with mandatory hours being early mornings, nights and weekends in the winter as required by the Road Agent. The position will be a highway maintenance/construction worker. Preferred candidates will have a CDL B driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within 6 months. The candidate also must have experience operating equipment such as backhoe, road grader, plow truck, etc. Experience with equipment maintenance and repair is a plus. The position will also require manual labor and must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. All candidates must pass a criminal background check as well as a drug and alcohol screening prior to employment. National Grid will be spraying herbicides on rights-of-way from June 15 through October 15.
Please see the attached notification for additional information.
From the notice: "Landowners or residents should make the application contractor aware of the location of a potentially affected water supply, and of any other sensitive area where herbicide application should be further restricted. The planned work will be performed by Lewis Tree Service. The contact person at Lewis Tree Service is Greyson Barr and can be reached from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at 585-358-8477."

The Conservation Commission is scheduled to meet at the Town Offices on the first Tuesday of the month at 10:00 am. The event calendar inadvertently said 11:00 am and has been corrected.

April 1: New Hampshire Electric Co-op (NHE CO-OP) and its contractor consultant, Vegetation Control Service, Inc. (VCS) will apply herbicides to undesirable vegetation growing within power line rights of way corridors in Wentworth in 2022.
Property owners along power lines will receive a door tag notice with approximate dates.
Residents who want personal notification or want to advise the NHE CO-OP or VCS of sensitive areas are encouraged to contact the Select Board's office for a coupon that can be returned to the NHE CO-OP.
Copies of the topological maps showing the location of the power lines and rights of way intended for treatment are also at the Select Board's office.

Per the Road Agent on the Wentworth Highway Department Facebook page, the road weight limits have been lifted.
The Wentworth Open Air Market is currently booking vendors for the upcoming season.
-- Dates: The Market will run from July 9th to September 3rd Saturdays 10-2 at the Hamilton Field in Wentworth.
-- Cost: $10/wk or half off if the season is paid in full at the start ($45). Let Renee know if there are weeks that you will not attend.
-- Power: Will be available by the start of the show
-- Space size: Minimum of 12' x 12'
