The Town of Wentworth is Seeking Applications for a Road Agent

Applicants must be able to perform duties of a Road Agent to include (but not limited to):

Seasonal duties: plowing, snow removal, and sanding; trimming trees, keeping culverts clear of debris;
repairing and replacing pipe; placing/replacing road signs; patching roads; paving, maintaining, and
reconstructing roads; and offering mutual aid when needed.

Perform repairs on town equipment as necessary, conduct maintenance on all Town equipment on a
regular basis, and keep daily maintenance logs of repairs and jobs performed.

Supervision of other Highway Department employees, maintain a work schedule for all employees,
prepare and submit various Town reports and documents, create and maintain a yearly budget.

The successful candidate must have a NH CDL and undergo a physical and drug test, as well as a criminal
background check.

Benefits include paid vacation, and single person premium medical insurance.

Supervisors of the Checklist in session October 23

Town of Wentworth Residents

The Supervisors of the Checklist for the Town of Wentworth will be in session October 23, 2024 at 6:30 PM at the Wentworth Town Office. The purpose of the meeting is to update and make corrections to the checklist and to register new voters for the State General Elections held on November 5, 2024.  You may also register to vote at the Town Clerk’s Office during their business hours.

Supervisors of the Checklist in Session August 29

 Town of Wentworth Residents

The Supervisors of the Checklist for the Town of Wentworth will be in session, August 29, 2024 at 6pm at the Town Office. The purpose of the meeting is to update and make corrections to the checklist and to register new voters for the State Primary Election held on September 10, 2024. We invite any new residents that wish to vote in elections to register or you may also register with the Town Clerk. Their hours are Tue 9am-7pm, Wed 9am-2pm and Thu 9am-2pm.

Legion Speedway Practice Schedule

Legion Speedway's summer racing schedule is well underway and the residents of Wentworth and surrounding towns are invited to attend.

Practice dates are the following:

  • May 18
  • June 12
  • June 26
  • July 10
  • July 24
  • August 07
  • August 21
  • September 04

These dates are the approved dates by the Town of Wentworth. The track will be open for single car practice on these nights from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. 

Not every date will be used, we only allow track rental or practice for certain reasons determined by the management necessary or safety related. 

*Subject to change with weather if needed but the Select board must be noticed to post where needed.

Debris Clean Up in Riverside Park and Hamilton Field Until July 1

Other People's Property Maintenance, LLC will be beginning the clean-up of debris in Riverside Park and Hamilton Fields. The project should be completed by July 1st.

Water Testing Monitors Needed

2024 BAKER RIVER WATER TESTING
WENTWORTH CONSERVATION COMMISSION - BAKER RIVER WATERSHED ASSOC
AND NH DPT OF ENVIROMENTAL SERVICES
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED


This water testing monitors the quality of the Baker River in each of the four towns along it's length. We're looking for volunteers this summer who are able and willing to spend about 2 - 3 hours a month from the end of May to the beginning of September. Volunteers work alongside BRWA water quality coordinator, Lisa Doner, to collect water samples and analyze them at three sites along the river in each town. Volunteers need to be readily reachable by email or phone, and be reliable in the dates and times they agree to. No expertise is needed. Training is done on site for collection method, operating and reading results on the supplied testing equipment.

Wentworth's three sites are:

  1. Warren/Wentworth Town Line across from East Side Road
  2. Riverside Park aka Paige's swim hole underneath the walking covered bridge
  3. Sanders Hill Road aka Silver Bridge swim hole
